Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decision on Monday, August 17, 2026, declaring Thursday, August 27, an official paid holiday to mark Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabawi al-Sharif).
The holiday was moved from Tuesday, August 25, which corresponds to the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, 1448 AH. This directive applies to workers across ministries, government agencies and departments, public authorities, local administration units, public-sector companies, and public business-sector companies.
Authorities noted that any scheduled examinations will proceed as planned according to timelines set by competent authorities.
