Ajman has initiated a pilot phase for a new program designed to classify and regulate buildings, specifically focusing on bachelor and shared accommodation within residential areas. Led by the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, the effort seeks to optimize building efficiency, ensure a secure and well-organized living environment, and elevate the overall quality of life and urban planning across the emirate.
The service has officially rolled out in five designated locations, namely Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Nakheel, Liwara, and Al Rumaila. This initial phase will undergo careful evaluation before any potential expansion or further refinement of the policy takes place.
Mohammed Abdulwahab Mustafa, director of the Municipal Control and Inspection Department, explained that the program addresses issues linked to bachelor and shared housing by setting definitive regulatory frameworks for residential occupancy. He emphasized that the approach balances the diverse needs of society with urban planning standards through a structured methodology.
To support the rollout, a workshop was held for real estate companies to introduce them to the new regulations. The session detailed the initiative's core objectives, approved compliance standards for bachelors, and the practical implementation of shared accommodation policies. Real estate representatives were also guided through the online application process and given the opportunity to clarify procedures directly with the Department.
