US President Donald Trump has issued a severe threat to bomb Oman if it interferes with a potential peace arrangement between the United States and Iran. Currently, Oman is engaged in negotiations with Iran concerning the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran continues to reject direct talks with Washington.

This marks the second time Donald Trump has threatened Oman, a longstanding US ally maintaining neutrality in the ongoing conflict. The latest warning follows the expiration of a 60-day Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Washington and Tehran that failed to secure lasting peace.

During an interview with US broadcaster Fox News, Donald Trump stated that if Oman gets in the way of US talks with Iran, his administration would heavily retaliate. Meanwhile, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman dismissed Donald Trump's claims of direct backchannel negotiations, calling them fabrications.

Oman has previously acted as a key mediator between Washington and Tehran. However, recent developments point to an emerging agreement between Iran and Oman over a new shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor. As geopolitical pressures mount, global oil prices have continued to fluctuate significantly.
