President al-Sisi Approves Legal Status Agreement for IFRC in Egypt

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has issued Presidential Decree No. 227 of 2026, officially approving an agreement to grant legal status to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Egypt.

The agreement was originally signed between the Egyptian government and the IFRC on February 17, 2026. Following its signing, the House of Representatives granted its approval for the decree during a legislative session held on June 30, 2026. The decree has since been formally published in the official gazette.
