Q Mobility and Parkin have joined forces to manage smart parking facilities across Etihad Rail’s growing passenger station network. This strategic collaboration between the three entities aims to elevate the passenger experience and foster a smarter, more sustainable transport ecosystem in the UAE by leveraging cutting-edge digital technology and artificial intelligence.

During the initial phase of the rollout, Q Mobility will oversee parking operations at the Abu Dhabi, Al Dhaid and Fujairah stations, while Parkin will manage the facilities at the Dubai station.

The initiative introduces a unified parking management model equipped with digital payment options across the network. Advanced technology will regulate access, streamline traffic flow, maximize parking capacity, and optimize operational efficiency. Furthermore, the partners will utilize data-driven insights and artificial intelligence to refine parking management and ensure seamless transitions between road and rail journeys.

Vehicle detection will be automated upon entry and exit, with fees calculated based on the duration of stay and entry times. At Dubai's Al Yalayis Station, motorists enjoy the first 15 minutes of parking for free, followed by a rate of Dh5 per hour, a maximum of Dh30 for five hours or more, and a Dh40 fee for overnight parking from 1am to 5am.

At Abu Dhabi's Mohamed bin Zayed City Station, parking is also free for the first 15 minutes, with subsequent hourly charges of Dh5. For stays exceeding two hours, vehicles entering between 6am and 2am are billed Dh5 for up to 24 hours, whereas overnight entries from 2am to 6am cost Dh20 for up to 24 hours. Each additional 24-hour period incurs a Dh20 charge.

Fujairah Station offers a free 15-minute grace period, with a one-hour charge of Dh5, a fee of Dh10 for stays between one and 24 hours, and an additional Dh10 for every subsequent 24-hour block. Meanwhile, parking at Al Dhaid Station remains temporarily free.

Azza Alsuwaidi, chief operating officer at Etihad Rail, stated: "Our partnership with Q Mobility and Parkin will provide passengers with convenient and seamless access to our stations. By integrating smart parking solutions across the network, we are enhancing mobility options and supporting a more connected transport system as our passenger network expands."

Mohamed Husain Karmastaji, chief executive of Q Mobility, highlighted that the partnership reinforces their commitment to innovation and AI-driven mobility solutions. "Together with Etihad Rail and Parkin, we will deliver an integrated parking management model that improves operational efficiency and the passenger experience," he remarked.

Mohamed Al Ali, chief executive of Parkin, added: "Operating the parking facilities at Etihad Rail’s Dubai station allows us to bring our digital parking solutions into the national rail network. We will focus on simplifying access and payment while delivering an efficient and convenient experience for rail passengers."

This collaboration ultimately supports the growth of a digitally-enabled transport network, boosting connectivity between private vehicles and railway services throughout the UAE.
