Dubai Police have successfully arrested 14 suspects and seized more than two tonnes of narcotics with a street value exceeding Dh115 million ($31.3 million).

The major operation led to the confiscation of various substances, including crystal methamphetamine, Xanax, tramadol, Lyrica tablets, marijuana, and papers laced with illegal substances. Authorities seized a total of 2.3 tonnes of pills and psychotropic substances, noting that the massive scale of the drugs haul pointed to the group's extensive distribution plans across the UAE.

The case began when the General Department of Anti-Narcotics received crucial intelligence regarding an organised criminal network preparing to flood the area with large quantities of drugs. Specialist teams subsequently launched field surveillance operations to track down those involved and assess the full scope of the illicit network.

All 14 arrested individuals are of Asian ethnicity. Subsequent investigations uncovered that the suspects were directly linked to an organised crime ring operating abroad. Following the successful bust, police strongly reaffirmed their ongoing commitment to aggressively combating drug trafficking and dismantling any criminal networks that threaten public safety in the UAE.
