India’s Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is once again demanding the resignation of a high-ranking senior official. Following youth-led protests in July that successfully forced the education minister to quit, the movement is now targeting the chief of the election commission.

Critics argue that the official is overseeing a deeply flawed review of the electoral roll, which has resulted in the removal of tens of millions of eligible voters. Meanwhile, the commission defends the revisions, stating they are long overdue and essential for eliminating duplicate entries.

However, protesters view these actions as a direct assault on democracy engineered to favor the governing BJP. The central question remains: will the Cockroach movement achieve success once again?
