Former boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has announced his intention to invite United States President Donald Trump to lead his ring walk before his upcoming showdown with British rival Anthony Joshua.

“I’ll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, old pal, and we’ll see if he’s available,” Fury stated to British media, though he acknowledged it might be unlikely due to presidential duties.

The anticipated bout between Fury and Anthony Joshua is scheduled for December 11 in Cardiff at the 80,000-capacity Principality Stadium. The connection between Fury and Donald Trump strengthened after they met at the UFC Freedom 250 at the White House in June, where Fury wore a cap reading “Donald Trump for Prime Minister” following the lifting of his US travel ban.

Despite the high-profile match, Tyson Fury insists his clash with Anthony Joshua serves merely as preparation for his ultimate priority: a trilogy fight against Oleksandr Usyk, who has defeated him twice previously. “I don’t have any intention of retiring after Joshua. I’m using this as a warm-up for Usyk,” Fury said, adding that he plans to pursue the fight in New York City.

Feeling energetic at age 38, Tyson Fury noted that this year will mark his most active schedule since 2018, having sparred with heavyweights like Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach.
