Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that his country is prepared to participate in trilateral talks with the United States and Russia this month. Speaking at a news conference alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv on Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's support for a swift timeline to help end the ongoing war.

While US ceasefire efforts had previously paused following Washington's involvement in a war on Iran, Washington is now actively pushing for technical-level discussions by the end of October. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the United Arab Emirates remains a potential venue for these meetings, alongside any alternative location proposed by the American side.

Meanwhile, both Russia and Ukraine have indicated plans to increase long-range attacks, with Moscow continuing to target Ukraine's energy sector and civilian infrastructure, including data centres and mobile network facilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed strong condemnation of these tactics as winter approaches.

In addition to renewed US mediation, India announced its intention to expand its diplomatic role in ending the conflict. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference in New Delhi, Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar noted India's increasing involvement in securing the Black Sea and facilitating discussions on grain and energy exports.
