Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Sunday, October 4, 2026, to review ongoing efforts to secure agricultural fertilizers and the latest measures implemented to regulate their distribution to farmers.

The meeting brought together Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem, alongside officials from several key entities.

During the session, the Premier underscored the State's dedication to backing the agricultural sector, referencing continued directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to support farmers through a comprehensive approach that maximizes the sector's resources and capabilities. This backing aims to widen cultivated areas, diversify crops—especially strategic ones—bolster food security, satisfy domestic crop demands, and boost agricultural exports, according to Madbouly.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's persistent focus on securing all essential agricultural production needs, such as necessary fertilizers, to enhance crop yields and fulfill broader social and economic objectives for both farmers and the State.

Discussions also covered coordinated steps with relevant bodies to tighten oversight over the agricultural fertilizer distribution network, guaranteeing that subsidized supplies reach qualified farmers while preventing support from leaking to unauthorized recipients. Additionally, the meeting tracked progress on supplying fertilizers through agricultural cooperatives nationwide and improving the transparency and efficiency of distribution and allocation mechanisms.
