Data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, revealed that the value of Egyptian exports to South Korea climbed to $44.6 million during the first half of 2026, up from $40.1 million in the same period of 2025, marking an 11.2 percent increase.
Conversely, Egyptian imports from South Korea totaled $595.7 million in the first half of 2026, reflecting a 9.9 percent decline compared to $661.1 million during the corresponding period in 2025. According to CAPMAS, total trade exchange between Egypt and South Korea reached $640.3 million during the first half of 2026, down 8.7 percent from $701.2 million in the same period of 2025, a decrease driven primarily by lower Egyptian imports from South Korea.
In a notable development, South Korean investments in Egypt experienced a massive surge, reaching $736.3 million during the first half of fiscal year 2025/2026, compared to just $77.2 million during the same timeframe in fiscal year 2024/2025, representing an 853.8 percent increase. Meanwhile, remittances from South Koreans working in Egypt stood at $4.82 million, a slight 0.6 percent decrease from the previous year's $4.84 million.
