Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar chaired the seventh meeting of the Board of Directors of the Medical Professions Risk Compensation Fund on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The session was attended by Hussein Dahroug, the fund’s executive director, alongside representatives from various ministries and authorities serving as board members.

According to Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the meeting covered several key agenda items. These included reviewing the fund’s financial standing, monitoring compensation payments, and evaluating investment plans. The board also explored potential areas of cooperation designed to support medical professionals.

During the meeting, officials examined the fund's total revenues and balances through the end of August 2026. They also assessed compensation distributed to eligible beneficiaries dealing with death and injuries resulting in total or partial disability. Additionally, discussions focused on the fund's investment strategy through August 2026, balances held in commercial banks, and ongoing financial monitoring to protect resources and fulfill obligations to beneficiaries.

The board addressed updates regarding the fund’s new headquarters at the Ministry of Labor, targeting a relocation in December. Furthermore, participants talked about proposed cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Health and Population's National Projects and Medical Professions Development sectors, the Egyptian Health Council, and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals.

Emphasizing the strategic direction of the fund, the minister stressed the importance of channeling resources into areas that directly benefit medical professionals. He noted that these measures aim to mitigate the risks of practicing health professions while enhancing support and protection for workers. Ultimately, these initiatives seek to improve the working environment and elevate the quality of healthcare services delivered to citizens.
