The United States and Canada have successfully reached an agreement to prevent steep tariffs on billions of dollars of Canadian goods, according to an announcement by US President Donald Trump.
The announcement came just moments before a midnight deadline that would have enacted a 50 percent duty on numerous Canadian exports, such as electronics, industrial machinery, furniture, and dairy products.
“I have paused the 50% Tariffs against Canada, that were scheduled to kick in tomorrow morning for a three day period, based on the fact that Canada and the U.S.A., subject to the finalization of documents, have a DEAL!” Trump stated in a post on Truth Social.
“The great Keystone XL Pipeline, long ago killed by Sleepy Joe Biden, may be awoken from the grave!”
