Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Nader Zaki stated on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that the conversation focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and the European Union, alongside discussions on several critical regional and international issues.
The officials reviewed the rapidly evolving situations in the Red Sea region and the Horn of Africa, emphasizing the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading further. Both leaders underscored the importance of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states while boosting diplomatic efforts to restore regional security and stability.
Furthermore, they highlighted the necessity of sustained coordination between Egypt and the European Union to achieve lasting settlements to ongoing regional crises.
