Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has been selected as US President Donald Trump’s next press secretary, with a White House source confirming to Al Jazeera on Friday that the position has been offered to her.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Zacharia currently serves as a senior communications adviser to Trump Media and Technology Group, the company operating the president’s social media platform Truth Social. Zachariah's career in Washington began in 2006 through internships at the Republican National Committee and within the White House under former US President George W Bush. The White House press secretary position has remained vacant since August following the resignation of previous holder Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down to spend more time with her family.
