Helping those in need remains a fundamental pillar of the UAE's core values, according to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

Speaking on World Humanitarian Day, Sheikh Mansour emphasized that generosity is a deeply rooted tradition inherited from the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, who prioritized humanity and established a humanitarian approach unbounded by time or geography, as reported by the state news agency Wam.

This year alone, the UAE has dedicated billions of dirhams to global relief operations. These extensive campaigns focus on addressing childhood hunger, eradicating preventable diseases, and expanding educational access worldwide, reaching populations in active war zones and disaster-stricken regions alike.

Among the most prominent initiatives is the Edge of Life campaign, spearheaded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, which successfully raised more than Dh2.82 billion to protect five million children from hunger. The initiative saw widespread participation from over 44,000 individuals, private companies, and humanitarian organizations.

Simultaneously, ongoing UAE aid efforts continue to address crises in Gaza and Sudan, alongside rapid emergency responses to natural disasters spanning Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

A notable ongoing effort is the Operation Gallant Knight campaign in the Gaza Strip. Since its inception, the UAE has delivered over $3.89 billion in humanitarian assistance, encompassing more than 126,000 tonnes of critical relief, medical supplies, and food aid distributed via more than 770 flights, 25 ships, and 13,000 lorries. Additionally, the Step of Hope campaign has successfully provided prosthetic limbs to 72 amputees in Gaza.
