Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk have reaffirmed the deep historical and fraternal bonds connecting their nations.

During a telephone conversation on Tuesday, the two top diplomats reviewed bilateral relations alongside international and regional developments, emphasizing a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused heavily on expanding economic ties, particularly in the sectors of energy, mining, fisheries, agriculture, and logistics.

Furthermore, the ministers stressed the necessity of convening the joint committee on a regular basis. They expressed strong anticipation for Cairo to host the committee's upcoming third session, which aims to build upon the momentum from the second session and the inaugural Egyptian-Mauritanian Economic Forum held in Nouakchott to further stimulate trade and investment.

Concluding their talks, the two officials addressed multilateral coordination within the Arab League, the African Union, and other regional organizations, while also exchanging views on ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions and advance political and diplomatic resolutions to current crises.
