LuLu Hypermarket Launches Festival of Spain 2026 to Showcase Culinary Heritage in Qatar

LuLu Hypermarket has officially launched the 'Festival of Spain 2026' across all its outlets in Qatar, offering shoppers a vibrant celebration of Spanish cuisine, culture, and products until October 14, 2026.

The week-long event began with an inauguration ceremony on October 8 at LuLu Hypermarket Giardino, The Pearl-Qatar. The launch event was attended by H.E. Dr Álvaro Renedo Zalba, Ambassador of Spain to Qatar, alongside representatives from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Qatar and other distinguished guests.

Transformed with themed décor and eye-catching displays inspired by iconic Spanish landmarks, the hypermarket hosted an array of authentic offerings, including premium cheeses, artisanal breads, fresh produce, and gourmet specialities. Shoppers also enjoyed live cooking demonstrations by students from SEK International School and interactive tasting sessions.

Speaking at the inauguration, H.E. Dr Álvaro Renedo Zalba emphasized the role of gastronomy in fostering cultural and historical ties between Spain and Qatar, noting shared influences in products such as saffron, olive oil, and turrón. A LuLu Group spokesperson reiterated the retailer's dedication to providing authentic, high-quality international products through its extensive sourcing network, which includes a dedicated logistics and warehousing facility in Madrid operated by Y International.
