Anthony Gordon of Barcelona celebrates scoring his team’s first goal [David Ramos/Getty Images] Anthony Gordon scored his first goal for Barcelona as the Spanish champions extended their perfect start in La Liga with a 3-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday.

England international Gordon opened the scoring in the second minute, while Gabriel Jesus added a second goal after half an hour for the league leaders, who have maintained a winning streak in every match played this season. French defender Jules Kounde secured the third goal from Lamine Yamal’s cross to round off a dominant performance against Jose Bordalas’s squad at Camp Nou.

Barcelona advanced five points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid, following their 2-1 win at Alaves earlier in the day, and established a nine-point lead over fourth-placed Real Madrid prior to Los Blancos hosting Villarreal.

Barcelona played without top scorer Raphinha, who picked up a hamstring injury during international duty with Brazil. Manager Flick brought in former Arsenal striker and compatriot Jesus as a replacement, and the team started the match aggressively.

Gordon, who has delivered strong performances since arriving before the start of the season, claimed his inaugural Barcelona goal via a low deflected shot after pushing past three defenders. The winger stood out as Barcelona’s most dangerous player in the opening half, building on his recent scoring form for England during the Nations League fixtures.

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia tested Getafe goalkeeper David Soria with a long-range strike as Flick’s team maintained control of the match. Getafe defender Zaid Romero committed a costly turnover in his own penalty area for Barcelona's second goal, handing possession directly to Jesus, who finished cleanly into the bottom corner.

Soria subsequently stopped Olmo before Yamal provided the assist for Kounde's third goal. Kounde, marking a milestone 194th appearance for Barcelona—surpassing Eric Abidal for the most by a French player—scored from close range following the teenage star Yamal's delivery.

Barcelona, which also triumphed in its Champions League opener, currently holds nine consecutive victories across all competitions this season.
