A man has tragically lost his life following a tiger attack after he entered an animal enclosure at a wildlife park in northern England, according to police reports.

South Yorkshire Police stated that emergency services and police officers rushed to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, situated near the city of Doncaster, at approximately 1:35pm on Saturday (12:35 GMT) following alerts that an individual had breached the enclosure. Despite medical intervention, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities noted that it remains unclear how the man managed to access the restricted area. The tiger involved in the incident was unharmed and remained within the enclosure throughout the event, with police confirming there was no broader threat to public safety.

In response to the emergency, the park was swiftly evacuated, and law enforcement personnel maintained a presence at the location on Saturday evening. "The man’s family is aware and is being supported by specialist officers. Our thoughts are with them at this distressing time," South Yorkshire Police expressed in an official statement.

Furthermore, police addressed social media reports, confirming they are aware of digital footage purportedly showing the individual inside the enclosure prior to the attack, while strongly urging the public to refrain from sharing the upsetting video.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park announced its immediate closure following the serious incident and confirmed it would stay closed through Sunday. "Estamos working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened," the park management noted via a statement published on their website, emphasizing that "the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and animals remain our highest priority."

Having opened its doors in 2009, Yorkshire Wildlife Park features the Land of the Tigers exhibit—a specialized 0.4-hectare (2-acre) sanctuary designed for endangered Amur tigers, also referred to as Siberian tigers, which was established in 2011. The attraction includes a 300-metre (985-foot) elevated walkway that allows guests to observe the animals navigating woodland and grassland areas, as well as engaging with a waterfall pool.
