At least 20 people have been killed in a series of violent attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid and Abha international airports in Saudi Arabia’s Asir province. The escalation comes as Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels ramp up their offensive against the kingdom, resulting in hundreds of injuries and drawing international concern.

Among the victims are Saudi airline pilot Capt Hamoud Ali Alkalthami, Egyptian flight attendant Azza Ramzy, and Syrian widowed mother of four Buthaina Ahmad Oweida. The casualties reflect a diverse group of nationalities, including citizens from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the US, Jordan, and Sudan.

Saturday's strike on Riyadh marked the deadliest attack on Saudi soil in over a decade, leaving more than 300 people wounded. The surge in violence has escalated the ongoing war in Yemen, where Riyadh supports the internationally recognized government against the Houthis. US President Donald Trump announced that the US is considering joining Saudi strikes against the Houthi forces.

Official statements and diplomatic missions have begun releasing details about the victims. Capt Hamoud Ali Alkalthami died in the attack on King Khalid International Airport, where airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft were struck. Azza Ramzy, 28, a flynas flight attendant, succumbed to her injuries from Saturday's strike. Buthaina Ahmad Oweida was killed while returning to Makkah after visiting her sister in Riyadh. Other victims included Talal Al Dani from Palestine and Mohammed Yusuf Ali from India, who was traveling with his family for an Umrah pilgrimage.

Footage broadcast by Saudi state television captured the chaotic moments of the Riyadh airport attack, showing religious pilgrims fleeing as explosions rocked the terminal. In response to the devastating strikes, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport.
