Iran has officially dismissed as "unfounded" the recent accusations by the United Arab Emirates claiming that Tehran launched two missiles toward the Gulf kingdom, according to reports from Iranian state media.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei strongly rejected the claim during a statement covered by Press TV, cautioning regional governments against leveling baseless allegations and urging them to remain vigilant regarding potential "false-flag operations."

Earlier, the UAE Defense Ministry reported that its air defense forces had detected two ballistic missiles heading toward the country from Iran on Tuesday, noting that one landed within its territorial waters. The official statement provided no details regarding casualties, property damage, or interception operations.

In a separate development, Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani alleged on Monday that Iran was responsible for drone strikes targeting his office as well as the home of the head of the Kurdish intelligence agency Parastin. Tehran also refuted these claims, pointing to the possibility of a "false-flag" incident.
