The 16th edition of Milipol Qatar 2026 commenced at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026. This three-day exhibition, running until October 22nd, serves as a crucial platform for over 270 local and international companies, law enforcement authorities, security agencies, and industry representatives to showcase the latest security technologies, exchange expertise, and foster new partnerships in response to evolving global security challenges.

Held under the patronage of Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the event spans 23,000 square metres and features seven international pavilions. The opening ceremony was attended by Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, who toured the exhibition alongside other senior officials. Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani also visited, receiving briefings on the cutting-edge security technologies, products, and systems presented by participating firms.

Organized by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Milipol Qatar has been a biennial event since 1996, facilitating exploration of emerging technologies and strengthening cooperation among security stakeholders.

Qatar and France Sign Security Cooperation Plan

A significant development on the sidelines of the exhibition was the signing of a three-year action plan for security cooperation between Qatar and France, covering the period from 2027 to 2030. Sheikh Khalifa witnessed the agreement between the two countries' interior ministries. This plan aims to enhance collaboration in critical areas such as organized crime, drug trafficking, counterterrorism, international event security, and civil protection.

Jean-Didier Berger, Minister Delegate to the French Minister of Interior, stated, "It is an old partnership, which we have just renewed with the signing of this triennial plan of action between us, which I have just signed with my Qatari counterpart." He emphasized the long-standing security relationship between Qatar and France and the importance of expanding this cooperation to effectively address contemporary security threats. "This partnership has enabled us to make progress in absolutely all areas," Berger added, noting that the agreement provides a robust framework for continued coordination.
