Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly urged Egypt’s newly nominated heads of diplomatic missions abroad to intensify efforts to draw foreign investments, open fresh markets for Egyptian exports, and market tourism as part of a wider mission to support the national economy.
Speaking at a gathering with the diplomats at the government headquarters in New Alamein City, where Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty was also present, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly congratulated the officials on their appointments and lauded the historical contributions of the diplomatic service in safeguarding national interests.
The gathering followed recent events celebrating the bicentennial of the establishment of Egypt’s foreign ministry. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that Egyptian diplomatic missions face a vital mandate amid regional and international challenges, which includes securing strategic interests, aiding Egyptians abroad, and enhancing consular support.
He stressed that every Egyptian ambassador must function effectively as an investment minister in their assigned nation, actively promoting investment opportunities in Egypt, presenting prospective projects, and detailing reforms to enhance the business environment. Additionally, the premier called on missions to assist Egyptian companies in penetrating international markets, particularly within Africa, and to secure more opportunities abroad for skilled Egyptian workers.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty noted that competence guided the selection of ambassadors and mission heads, with numerous younger diplomats appointed to overseas roles, and stated that mission performance will face routine evaluations.
