Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the city's police force are implementing changes to speed limits on five roads across the emirate. This initiative is part of the broader Dubai Traffic Safety Strategy.
Three streets will see an increase in their speed limits, while two others will have their limits reduced. Specifically, the speed limit on Al Asayel Street will be raised from 60 kph to 80 kph between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street. On Al Mustaqbal Street, the limit will increase from 60 kph to 70 kph between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street. Similarly, Latifa bint Hamdan Street's speed limit will be elevated from 60 kph to 70 kph between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Conversely, speed limits will be lowered on Al Rebat Street from 100 kph to 90 kph between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. On Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, the limit will decrease from 80 kph to 70 kph between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street.
New speed limit signs are being installed in these affected areas to reflect the upcoming adjustments, which are set to take effect from November 1.
