Investments in completed real estate projects in Dubai surged by more than 50 percent in the opening months of 2026, demonstrating the sector's strong resilience against the backdrop of the Iran war.

According to data released by the Dubai Land Department and reported by the state news agency Wam, the total value of these developments reached Dh111 billion ($30.2 billion) during the first six months through June. This represents a 52 percent year-on-year increase compared to the Dh73 billion recorded during the same timeframe in 2025.

The data highlights that these funds were poured into 104 completed projects, marking a nearly 39 percent rise from the 75 projects finalized in the first half of the previous year. Furthermore, residential supply exceeded 24,500 units, reflecting a 36 percent increase.

Completed built-up areas ready for handover grew by nearly a quarter to reach 1.95 million square metres. Meanwhile, the total land area allocated for completed projects more than doubled to approximately one million square metres, with the value of land earmarked for developments shooting up 135 percent to Dh19.46 billion.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, stated that the substantial rise in real estate transactions, project volumes, and investment inflows demonstrates a renewed vote of confidence from global investors and the international business community in Dubai's robust economic environment.

The property market remains a cornerstone of the UAE economy—the second-largest in the Arab world—attracting continuous buyer interest despite regional conflicts. A June report from Arada's UAE Property Investment Index ranked the Emirates as the world's leading real estate investment destination, noting the industry's ability to maintain momentum.

Major projects continue to progress across Dubai. Earlier this month, Dar Global awarded a major contract to Gulf Asia Contracting for the podium construction of the $1 billion Trump International Hotel and Tower. Additionally, Nakheel began handing over 892 villas and townhouses at the redeveloped Jebel Ali Village near Ibn Battuta Mall.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai persists in generating new pathways for growth and sustainable expansion through comprehensive urban development, aligning with population growth, economic needs, and superior quality-of-life standards.
