Saudi Arabia has officially become the latest nation to be included in the Global Entry program, a significant development that offers expedited clearance at US airports for low-risk travelers. According to US Customs and Border Protection, this inclusion represents a "significant step" in enhancing travel, trade, and security cooperation between Washington and Riyadh.

Diane Sabatino, executive assistant commissioner of Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations, stated, “Travel should build bridges. By extending Global Entry eligibility to Saudi Arabian citizens, we’re making international travel more seamless for trusted travelers while strengthening cooperation between our two countries.”

The Global Entry program involves screening the security backgrounds of applicants prior to their travel. Upon arrival at a US airport, members can proceed directly to a Global Entry kiosk for automated check-in, bypassing lengthy queues and extensive paperwork. It is important to note that all participants in the program must still possess a valid US visa to enter the country.

Furthermore, approved Saudi travelers will gain access to TSA PreCheck for eligible domestic flights. This benefit allows pre-screened individuals to experience a more efficient security screening process.

Membership in the Global Entry program is valid for five years, provided that all program requirements are continuously met. US Customs and Border Protection cautioned that any violation of the program's terms could lead to enforcement actions, including the termination of membership.

Saudi Arabia now joins 22 other countries on the Global Entry list, which includes nations such as the UAE, Jordan, India, and the UK.
