Capella Hotels and Resorts, renowned globally for its exceptional hospitality, is poised to make its highly anticipated debut in the UAE with Capella Dubai, scheduled to open its doors in 2030. This ultra-luxury resort will be a cornerstone of Dubai Peninsula, a new, prestigious development gracing the Jumeirah coastline. The Dubai Peninsula project is set to host not only Capella Dubai but also debut UAE properties from esteemed brands Aman and Rosewood Hotels. Shahab Lutfi, chairman of Dubai developer H&H, the visionary group behind Dubai Peninsula, shared exclusively with The National that the development is conceived as a destination with a "distinct identity, bringing together some of the world’s most renowned hospitality brands, exceptional residences and a unique waterfront setting." He further elaborated, "Capella brings a different dimension to this vision through its intimate, highly personalised approach to hospitality. We see a strong alignment between Capella’s emphasis on individual experiences and sense of place and our ambition to create a destination that offers more than exceptional design and location. Capella Dubai will introduce a more intimate, service-led hospitality experience to the city’s resort landscape, adding depth and character to the overall offering."

What to Expect at Capella Dubai

The entrance to Capella Dubai is envisioned as a contemporary beachfront palace. The resort will rise nine floors, offering 115 luxurious rooms and suites, with direct access to a private beach. Guests can anticipate a diverse array of culinary experiences, including a rooftop restaurant and bar, a rooftop pool, and the sophisticated Capella Lobby Lounge. A signature element found in all Capella properties, the Capella Living Room, will also be a central feature in Dubai. This space is designed as a communal hub for guests to connect and socialize, while also serving as a venue for workshops and activities. It is here that guests will find the property’s Culturist, described as a blend of neighbourhood expert and intuitive mind-reader, dedicated to curating personalized experiences that connect visitors with the local community, heritage, and culture.

Beyond its culinary and social offerings, Capella Dubai will place a significant emphasis on wellness. The resort will feature a comprehensive spa, complete with treatment rooms, a plunge pool, a hammam, dedicated relaxation lounges for men and women, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. Architecturally, Capella Dubai is designed to evoke a contemporary beachfront palace, drawing inspiration from Dubai's rich maritime history and its modern coastline. The design will artfully incorporate water, natural materials, and light to enhance every space. Guests will be welcomed into a grand, 25-meter-high arrival courtyard featuring majestic marble-clad columns seemingly suspended within a reflecting pond. The interiors, crafted by the renowned architectural firm Denniston (also responsible for One&Only One Za’abeel, Aman New York, and Cheval Blanc Seychelles), subtly echo Dubai’s seafaring legacy through refined, modern design elements. These include graphic motifs, intricate craftsmanship, and carefully selected materials. The color palette features sandstone, coral stone, and dried palm fronds, offering a subtle homage to traditional coastal dwellings. Soft, neutral tones are accented with pops of washed blue, a chic nod to the surrounding waters. The design transitions from grand, dramatic spaces to more intimate, residential-feeling areas, with strategically framed views and abundant plant life in public spaces, intentionally blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor environments to maintain a constant connection to the beachfront setting. The resort will also boast extensive alfresco spaces, including courtyards, gardens, and outdoor terraces, all enhanced with lush planting, water features, and textured marble to create serene, immersive sanctuaries.

Capella Dubai represents the Singapore-based brand’s second venture in the region, following the debut of Capella Diriyah in Riyadh, slated for 2027. Capella Hotels and Resorts currently manages a portfolio of 10 properties across Asia Pacific and Australia. Roland Fasel, president of Capella Hotel Group, stated, “Capella has always been deliberately selective about where it goes, choosing destinations where we believe we can create something meaningful and distinctive. At Dubai Peninsula, our partnership with H&H is the foundation for all that we are building. They share our vision for the intimate, highly personalised experience Capella is known for, one that connects guests more deeply with Dubai, its culture and its people. With the opening of Capella Dubai in 2030, we will further establish our presence in one of the region’s most compelling cities, while remaining true to the approach to hospitality that defines Capella.”

Dubai Peninsula: What We Know So Far

First announced in December 2025, the Dubai Peninsula is being developed on reclaimed land along the Jumeirah 2 coastline, extending from the Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah. This development is positioned as an "ultra-luxury waterfront destination" and is expected to bring together premier hospitality brands, a marina with restaurants and boutiques, several luxury waterfront and beachfront residential towers, and over two million square feet of botanical gardens. In addition to Capella Dubai, Aman will make its UAE debut with an exclusive Aman Hotel designed by Kerry Hill, alongside luxury Aman Residences and the private Aman Club. The all-suite waterfront Aman hotel will feature a 350-meter private beach and a 2,300 square meter Aman Spa. The residential component includes 78 ultra-luxury two- to five-bedroom residences and four villas. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will also launch its first Dubai property on Dubai Peninsula, Rosewood Dubai. This expansive property will feature 195 rooms and suites, eight private villa gardens, a private beach and beach club, four dining venues, a dedicated wellness centre, and an Explorers Club for younger guests. A separate residential tower on the same plot will offer 63 refined residences and five exclusive beachfront villas, with resident amenities including 24-hour concierge service, a spa, a private cinema, a library, and a lounge. The entire project is slated for completion in 2030. Lutfi further commented on the broader destination, stating, “We are bringing hospitality, architecture and landscape together from the outset, ensuring that each responds to the setting and contributes to a coherent vision. For us, the strength of Dubai Peninsula lies in the way its different elements come together, from its shoreline and central park to its collection of hospitality and residential offerings.”
