West Midlands Police are actively searching for three men following an incident where a McLaren and a Lamborghini were deliberately set on fire outside the Royal Shalimar in Birmingham.
CCTV footage captured the targeted attack, showing the two supercars being doused in a flammable substance before being ignited. Interestingly, while the McLaren and the Lamborghini were targeted, other supercars parked nearby in the same line were left completely untouched by the perpetrators.
The suspects, who were all dressed in black, were recorded fleeing the scene on foot before escaping in a white Volkswagen Golf. Video footage also showed wedding guests rushing out of the venue in an unsuccessful pursuit.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported during the Wednesday evening incident. West Midlands Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to gather more information.
A spokesperson for the Royal Shalimar stated: "Royal Shalimar has always been a place for families, celebrations and the wider Birmingham community, and we remain committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our guests."
