Hurghada International Airport has set a new all-time daily operational record, handling an unprecedented 389 takeoffs and landings last Saturday. This significant achievement represents an 8.7 percent increase compared to its previous single-day record of 358 flight movements, which was recorded on November 1, 2025.

The surge in passenger traffic was even more pronounced, with the airport processing approximately 67,000 travelers. This figure marks an 18.3 percent year-on-year increase, surpassing the growth rate of flight operations. Arrivals saw a substantial jump of 24.1 percent, accounting for 33,500 passengers, while departing passengers also reached 33,500, an increase of 13 percent.

Aviator Wael al-Nashar, Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, attributed this milestone to enhanced operational efficiency and robust coordination among airport departments. He highlighted the role of streamlined processing protocols and team readiness in ensuring uninterrupted flight schedules and swift passenger handling, all while upholding stringent safety and security standards.

This record-breaking performance aligns with the commencement of Egypt’s winter tourism season, a period typically characterized by a significant influx of international charter and scheduled flights to Red Sea resort destinations. The heightened operational activity underscores Hurghada International Airport's critical role as a major gateway, supporting national initiatives to expand Egypt’s vital tourism sector.
