Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty engaged in a telephone discussion with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The conversation focused on the latest regional developments and the ongoing initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions within the area.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nader Zaki, the two ministers exchanged perspectives on recent regional events. They both expressed apprehension regarding the possibility of renewed military confrontations and the potential consequences these could have on regional and international security and stability.
Abdelatty emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing diplomatic pathways and maintaining an open approach to facilitate a political resolution to the current crises. He further highlighted the necessity for all involved parties to exhibit flexibility and achieve compromises that align with their respective interests. This, he stated, would be crucial in preventing the region from spiraling into a new phase of escalation, which could lead to severe political, economic, and humanitarian repercussions for both the region and the global community.
