The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) is forecasting a notable decrease in temperatures across Egypt, with mild daytime conditions expected in most areas. However, nights and early mornings will turn cool to cold. This gradual temperature decline is anticipated to persist until Thursday, November 12, bringing with it the formation of mist and a possibility of rain in various regions.
Expected Temperatures:
Weather Warnings:
The EMA has issued a warning concerning the formation of occasionally dense water mist between 4 AM and 9 AM. This phenomenon is expected to impact roads leading to and from the northern parts of the country, extending to Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, potentially reducing horizontal visibility.
There is a 30 percent chance of light to moderate rainfall, occurring intermittently, across parts of the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt, with a particular focus on northern Sinai. Additionally, a lower probability of 20 percent for light rain exists in parts of southern Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, and the Gulf of Suez, with a potential to extend to Greater Cairo and the Red Sea Governorate.
Disruption to Maritime Navigation:
The Mediterranean coast, encompassing areas like Matrouh, Al-Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr el-Sheikh, and Damietta, is experiencing disruptions to maritime navigation. Wind speeds are expected to reach 40–50 km/h, with wave heights between two and three meters. Winds will also pick up periodically across most regions, intensifying the perceived drop in temperatures.
Advice to Citizens:
In light of the cold nighttime conditions and morning mist, the EMA advises citizens to wear warm clothing, particularly during late nights and early mornings. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when driving on roads affected by mist. The public is also encouraged to stay informed by following the latest bulletins issued by the EMA.
