A brand-new 102-metre bridge has officially opened in Dubai, significantly expanding the city's mountain biking infrastructure. Located at Mushrif National Park, the structure successfully connects multiple segments of the mountain biking trail into a single, uninterrupted route.
According to the emirate's municipality, the initiative forms part of a broader programme designed to weave wellbeing, outdoor recreation, and active lifestyles into daily urban life, while simultaneously elevating the quality of experiences offered across public spaces.
"The new bridge represents a significant addition to Mushrif National Park and transforms the mountain biking experience by creating a continuous connection between two sections of the trail," stated Bader Anwahi, chief executive of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality. He noted that mountain bikers can now ride seamlessly without pausing to cross vehicular roads, ensuring a much safer and more enjoyable journey.
Constructed with the surrounding natural environment in mind, the project aims to improve accessibility and movement without compromising the unique character of Mushrif National Park. The infrastructure incorporates two dedicated lanes—one specifically for mountain bikers and another reserved exclusively for hikers—with the total end-to-end mountain biking journey across the bridge spanning 182 metres.
