The Public Prosecution has ordered the suspect in the murder of a man, his wife, and their two daughters in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, to be referred to an urgent criminal trial following a comprehensive 48-hour investigation.
Authorities had previously received a notification regarding the discovery of the bodies of four members of the same family in New Cairo, all bearing gunshot wounds after having been reported missing. Initiating an investigation that spanned 48 hours, prosecutors inspected the crime scene, examined the bodies, and ordered autopsies. Investigators also tracked the victims’ route using CCTV footage and requested police investigations, which revealed that the perpetrator was a friend of the victims, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the premeditated murder of the victim, his wife, and their two young daughters after the husband refused to lend him money. The perpetrator resolved to kill the husband and steal his cash and gold jewelry, luring him to the Katameya area. There, he fired three shots at him, killing him instantly, before stealing his house key and disposing of the body on a desert road.
Following the initial killing, the suspect lured the victim’s wife and two young daughters by falsely claiming the husband had been involved in a traffic accident, intending to clear out the residence and steal its contents. He then shot them five times inside a vehicle, killing them. He proceeded to the residence, but the presence of the building guard prevented him from executing the robbery.
The suspect later reenacted the crime. His confession aligned with witness statements from individuals who were in contact with the victims shortly before their deaths, video footage retrieved from locations and shops visited by the suspect and victims, and mobile tower data confirming that their devices were in the same geographic locations during the crime. Forensic technical reports also confirmed the authenticity of the surveillance footage, with biometric analysis matching the suspect and corroborating the autopsy findings. Consequently, the Public Prosecution ordered the suspect held in remanded custody and referred him to an urgent criminal trial.
