Strong winds, rain, and hail swept across parts of the UAE on Tuesday as unsettled weather continued to impact the country. A powerful storm struck Al Amerah in Al Ain, where gusting winds sent loose objects flying and caused localized damage. Rainfall was also recorded in Saa, located to the east of Al Ain.
Meanwhile, in Dubai, several areas experienced a hailstorm, while rain was reported in Al Faw in Sharjah and Al Faqa along the Dubai-Al Ain road.
The National Centre of Meteorology has forecasted further rain for the southern and eastern areas of the country on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures during this period are expected to be higher than in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with Al Ain reaching a high of 48°C on Wednesday, while Dubai and Abu Dhabi peak in the low 40s. Fujairah is expected to remain relatively cool at 36°C. Additionally, humidity will rise, bringing fog to western coastal regions by Thursday morning.
On a broader scale, the World Meteorological Organisation has reported that a rapidly strengthening El Nino will drive above-normal temperatures globally over the next three months. The UN weather agency forecasts that the tropical Pacific warming event will intensify between August and October, leading to shifted global rainfall patterns.
