Hitmakers The Chainsmokers and Irish rock band The Script are set to headline the race-day concert at this year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, delivering separate sets at Etihad Live on Sunday, December 6.
The duo and the band will close the four-night after-race concert series following the Formula One season finale at Yas Marina Circuit. They join a star-studded lineup that includes Lewis Capaldi and Zara Larsson performing on December 3, alongside Imagine Dragons on December 5. The performer for the remaining concert on Friday, December 4, is expected to be announced soon. Access to these exclusive concerts is restricted to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders.
The Script arrive at the event supporting their eighth studio album, The User’s Guide to Being Human, which was released this month and features the single Man in the Arena. Led by Danny O’Donoghue, the group first broke through with their self-titled debut album in 2008 and are widely recognized for timeless tracks such as Breakeven, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, For the First Time, and Hall of Fame. Their recent UAE performance at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre in 2025 marked their first return to the country following the passing of guitarist and founding member Mark Sheehan in 2023.
Reflecting on returning to the stage, O'Donoghue shared with The National that performing has taken on a deeper significance. "I’m not afraid to show my emotions or open up to the audience," he stated. "I believe our songs were there for people when they needed them, and now those people are here for us… it’s a beautiful moment.">
Meanwhile, The Chainsmokers—comprising Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall—released new music this year, teaming up with Swedish singer Oaks for the five-track EP Love Is Kind in May, which includes the tracks Echo and Already Know. The American electronic music duo initially rose to prominence with #Selfie in 2014 before generating a massive catalog of hits, including Roses, Don’t Let Me Down featuring Daya, Closer featuring Halsey, Paris, and Something Just Like This with Coldplay. They previously performed at White Beach at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai in 2022, four years after their regional debut headlining the RedFestDXB music festival.
According to Ethara, the previous year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix drew a record-breaking 339,000 fans across four days, which included 136,000 concertgoers attending the after-race performances and official after-parties.
