Dubai drivers will enjoy complimentary parking on Friday in honor of the public holiday marking the Prophet Mohammed's birthday. The emirate's Roads and Transport Authority announced that fees will be waived across all public parking zones, excluding multistorey car parks, with standard tariffs resuming on Saturday, August 29.
Alongside parking updates, the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram will extend their operational hours on Friday. The Dubai Metro will run from 5am until 1am the following day, while trams will operate from 6am until 1am. The public holiday, observing Mawlid Al Nabawi, has created a three-day weekend for both the public and private sectors.
Public transport users should also note adjustments to bus services. Passengers traveling to Abu Dhabi are advised to utilize the E101 service from Ibn Battuta Bus Station, as the E100 route from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be suspended from Thursday through Sunday, August 30. Travelers can verify updated schedules using the S'hail app.
Additionally, the Umm Ramool Customer Happiness Centre and smart customer service centres located in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Twar, Al Kifaf, and at the RTA Head Office will maintain 24-hour operations. While most vehicle testing centres will close for the holiday, select locations including Al Mutakamela Al Quoz, Al Mutakamela Al Qusais, Aber, and Wasel Al Jaddaf will remain open to provide technical testing and vehicle registration services from 7am to noon and from 3pm to 10.30pm.
