The UAE has announced a month-long series of national events to mark Emirati Women's Day on Friday. Running until September 28, this year's celebration operates under the theme We Emerge Stronger and Better, serving as a platform to launch initiatives, recognize achievements, and highlight role models. State news agency Wam reported on Thursday that the occasion reflects the country's ambition to build on existing gains and pursue further progress across all sectors.
Sana Suhail, Minister of Family, stated that the theme reflects the UAE's forward-looking spirit, grounded in ambition and responsibility. She noted that it reaffirms how the achievements of Emirati women stem from a national ecosystem founded on the integration of roles, aligning with the Mother of the Nation 50:50 vision which sets broader prospects for women's participation in leading national development and prosperity. She added that the occasion coincides with the Year of the Family, highlighting the connection between family prosperity and societal advancement.
Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, stated that Emirati women play an active and influential role across diverse fields of development, combining national and family responsibilities while representing a source of strength for society that contributes to the UAE's continued progress. He added that this year's theme carries national significance reflecting confidence in women's ambition and determination.
Emirati Women's Day is observed on August 28 each year to reflect on the achievements of women and their pivotal role in the nation's rise over the decades. The occasion was established in 2015 by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation.
