President Donald Trump 's son-in-law Jared Kushner, high representative of Gaza's Board of Peace Nickolay Mladenov and former UK prime minister Tony Blair are scheduled to travel to Israel and Egypt next week, an official source informed The National on Friday.

The upcoming diplomatic mission follows remarks from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating that Israel did not agree to the US-backed Board of Peace proposal for Hamas disarmament, potentially creating friction with President Donald Trump .

A Board of Peace official told The National that discussions in Israel will focus on advancing the president’s 20-point peace plan. The official emphasized that both the United States and Israel share the goal of a demilitarised Hamas and will address any raised concerns to accelerate progress.

Meanwhile, meetings in Egypt will involve Egyptian officials and other mediators to solidify the next steps for the road map implementation. The source highlighted that these diplomatic efforts demonstrate a joint commitment to achieving sustainable security, prosperity, and a demilitarised Gaza where Hamas cedes authority to the Palestinian technocratic government.

Previously, President Donald Trump announced that the Board of Peace secured an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other groups in Gaza. Hamas official Ghazi Hamad described the arrangement as a comprehensive framework dependent on Israel fulfilling the first phase of an agreement previously established in Egypt last year. In contrast, Mr Netanyahu asserted that Israel will maintain its current positions in Gaza until Hamas is fully disarmed, despite an existing ceasefire from last October.
