Prominent Cassation and Supreme Constitutional Court attorney Amr Abdel Salam stated that the suspects involved in the armed kidnapping of a woman in Sheikh Zayed could face the death penalty if convicted.
Abdel Salam explained that the legal framework governing the case falls under Article 290 of Egyptian Penal Code No. 58 of 1937, as amended by Law No. 5 of 2018. Under standard provisions, abduction through coercion or fraud carries a minimum rigorous imprisonment sentence of 10 years.

Abdel Salam stressed that final legal classifications and sentencing will depend entirely on the Public Prosecution’s ongoing investigation and evidence gathering.
