Malaysian Community in Qatar Kicks Off National Day Festivities with Indoor Walkathon at Doha Festival City

The Malaysian Association of Qatar [MAQ] recently united members of the Malaysian community for a five-kilometre walkathon held at Doha Festival City on Friday morning, kicking off early preparations for Independence Day on 31 August.

Malaysia’s Ambassador to Qatar Faizal Razali made a special appearance at the event, walking alongside families and community members as the wider National Month celebrations officially commenced.

The gathering deeply reflected the spirit of “Merdeka”, the Malay word signifying independence and freedom, alongside “Ukhuwah”, which highlights the enduring bonds of solidarity and fellowship among the community.

Following this successful start, the Embassy of Malaysia in Qatar announced plans to continue the ongoing celebrations throughout the month of September.
