The UAE Ministry of Finance actively participated in the second meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors held in the US. According to the state news agency Wam, the conference centered on priority economic and financial topics, encompassing recent developments in the global economy and future growth forecasts.
Hosted over two days in Asheville, North Carolina, the gathering also addressed international co-operation regarding digital transformation, skills development, sovereign debt hurdles, and strategies to resolve global economic imbalances.
Mohamed Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, underscored the necessity of strong collaboration among G20 members to foster sustainable and balanced economic growth. Furthermore, he emphasized the critical value of sharing best practices concerning government services and investments in future-focused skills.
“The G20 is an important platform for strengthening international co-operation and developing joint solutions to global economic challenges,” stated Mr Al Hussaini.
During the event, the UAE showcased various national initiatives focused on digital transformation and enhanced government services designed to boost efficiency and simplify the ease of doing business. The delegation also presented specialized programmes aimed at cultivating national talent and equipping employees for the evolving demands of the labour market.
Additionally, the conference featured collaborative sessions with private sector representatives, exploring topics such as banking, the integration of artificial intelligence in health care, advanced manufacturing, and digital assets.
