Jordan’s Princess Iman and her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, have celebrated the birth of twin girls, as announced by the Royal Hashemite Court on Friday.

The joyful news follows an announcement early last month by Queen Rania, who shared on Instagram that the couple was expecting their second child alongside a photograph of Princess Iman, her husband, and their daughter, Amina, with the caption: “A new joy on the way.” Queen Rania later added, “The grandchildren club is growing, and we couldn’t be happier for Iman, Jameel and soon-to-be big sister Amina!”

According to the Royal Hashemite Court, the twin girls were born on August 14. The official statement extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to Princess Iman, Mr Thermiotis, and Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

Princess Iman, 29, is the eldest daughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania. She married Mr Thermiotis, 32, in March 2023 during a ceremony held at Beit Al Urdun Palace in Amman. Mr Thermiotis, born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1994, is of Greek descent, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and has a background in finance in New York.

The couple previously welcomed their first child, Amina, in February 2025. The Arabic name Amina is the feminine form of Amin, meaning trustworthy, and shares its roots with the name of Prophet Mohammed's mother, while also signifying a person who is safe, caring, honest, and reliable.
