Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Wednesday September 2, 2026 with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi. During the call, Abdelatty conveyed the sincere condolences of the Egyptian government and people to Jordan following a passenger bus crash earlier in the day on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.
Abdelatty affirmed that relevant Egyptian authorities are providing all necessary assistance to care for the injured and facilitate the arrangements for transferring the bodies of the Jordanian victims back to Jordan. In response, Safadi expressed sincere condolences to Egypt, its government and people, and to the families of the Egyptian victims.
Safadi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian government for its solidarity and cooperation during these difficult circumstances, acknowledging the ongoing assistance provided in monitoring the condition of the injured and handling the transfer of the victims' bodies.
