The Tasweer Photography Festival has officially opened the second edition of the 'Frame and Focus Exhibition' at Al Hosh Gallery. Running until October 5, the showcase presents the final projects of 12 talented photographers who successfully completed Tasweer’s flagship Frame and Focus Advanced 14-week Photography Course.

Visitors can explore a diverse array of documentary photography, portraiture, and conceptual image-making. Each participant's work is deeply shaped by their personal experiences and cultural backgrounds, offering intimate perspectives on community, place, and contemporary life.

Khalifa Al Obaidly, Director of Tasweer, noted that the initiative aims to provide regional photographers with the visibility and guidance needed to advance their artistic practices and engage new audiences. The comprehensive programme was delivered in collaboration with partners including the Qatar Preparatory School (QPS), The VII Foundation, and Al Hosh Gallery.

Deputy Director of Image and Narrative Practices of Qatar Preparatory School Alanoud Al Buainain emphasized how structured guidance helps cultivate unique visual voices among participants. Co-curated by The VII Foundation and Abdulla Faisal Al Khalaf, the exhibition features compelling projects exploring memory, migration, faith, and belonging.

Among the showcased works are Maja Bačić’s “I SEA,” Fatema Ahmad Al-Doh’s “I, Myself, Am a Country,” Abdullatif Ahmad Alnaemi’s “The First Chalk Line,” and Abdullatif Jaidah’s “The House of God.” Additional featured projects include Alwaleed Alkhaja’s “And this, too, shall pass,” Burair Ali Alkishri’s “The Rose,” Christophe Buffet’s “Basateen Al-Freej (Gardens of the Neighbourhood),” Jhenny Marian Laya Perez’s “FULAN,” and Jaili Hajo’s “We Too Have Wings.”

To complement the exhibition, Tasweer will host a special Frame and Focus Exhibition Tour & Artist Panel Talk at Al Hosh Gallery on Sunday, September 6, at 3:00 pm. The exhibition is open to the public as part of the Qatar Creates Fall/Winter 2026–27 season.
