Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, held a high-level meeting with Jane Fraser, chairwoman and chief executive of global investment bank Citigroup. According to state news agency Wam, the discussion focused on expanding co-operation within the banking sector and advancing financial solutions to enhance the efficiency of the business ecosystem and drive sustainable growth across diverse economic sectors.
Reuters reported that Citi maintained $17.3 billion in exposure to the UAE at the close of 2025. Operating under the name Citibank UAE, the financial group has functioned as a vital regional financial hub since 1964.
Citi's regional footprint includes opening an office at the Dubai International Financial Centre in 2006, followed by a branch opening at Abu Dhabi’s financial centre ADGM in 2018. The institution currently delivers liquidity management solutions to clients aiming to establish regional Treasury centres within the UAE.
The meeting was also attended by Ahmed Al Zaabi, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, alongside Saif Ghobash, secretary general of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
