Abu Dhabi Police have officially honoured several residents who demonstrated extraordinary bravery by protecting children, rescuing individuals from burning vehicles, and averting major road accidents.
On Monday, authorities confirmed that four individuals were recognized for their swift interventions during critical emergencies. Among them was Yousra Qassem Ahmed Otli, who was commended for her remarkable courage following a school bus accident. Despite sustaining injuries in the crash, Ms Otli remained inside the vehicle to comfort the schoolchildren, coordinate their evacuation, and ensure their safety until emergency responders arrived.
Additionally, Nabeel Ali Saleh Al Balushi and Khalid Ali Abdullah Al Mansoori received honors for pulling people to safety from vehicles engulfed in flames during separate traffic collisions. Meanwhile, Mohammed Waqar Zulfiqar Ali was celebrated for promptly reporting and removing a dangerous obstruction from a roadway, effectively preventing a severe traffic accident.
Brig Nasser Sulaiman Al Maskari, director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, presented the awards and commended the recipients for their humanitarian and heroic efforts. He emphasized that their actions highlight the vital partnership between local police and community members in safeguarding lives and enhancing public safety.
