Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming Arab Media Summit in Dubai, according to confirmation from the event organisers. As the three-day summit kicks off at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Tuesday, Mr Al Shara will speak before a gathering of prominent media leaders and decision-makers.

This visit marks his first appearance in Dubai since assuming office, following prior trips to Abu Dhabi in April and July of this year. The engagement coincides with Syria's ongoing efforts to restore its regional and international ties in the wake of the fall of the Assad regime. Notably, this comes alongside a milestone achievement as the Syrian President makes the country's first international Visa transaction.

Held annually under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Arab Media Summit stands as the region's largest and most influential media gathering. The event is scheduled to run from September 15 to 17, anticipating an attendance of approximately 10,000 media professionals and industry figures. Furthermore, more than 400 speakers representing over 23 countries are slated to participate across more than 175 sessions.

In addition to the Syrian President, Syria’s Minister of Information, Khaled Zaarour, is confirmed among the senior Arab officials attending the conference. Discussions at the summit will center on significant transformations impacting the media industry, such as the expanding influence of artificial intelligence and digital platforms, alongside the vital role of media amid ongoing geopolitical and economic shifts throughout the region.
