Visitors to Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque are now required to pay an entry fee, with UAE Emirates ID holders charged Dh5 ($1.35) and tourists paying Dh10. The landmark complex remains completely free of charge for worshippers.

According to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, visitors arriving through tour operators will be charged Dh8, while individuals aged 60 and older can enter for free. Fees for official delegations are determined by the relevant authorities.

In addition to standard entry, the centre offers access to the Light & Peace Museum and the Diya 360-degree immersive experience for Dh25 each, or through a combined ticket priced at Dh40. The museum features interactive displays and precious artifacts, while the Diya exhibition uses sound and light to highlight Islamic civilization and UAE heritage.

Guided cultural tours led by specialists remain free for individuals and groups, running daily at specific times. Visitors can also explore the main prayer hall for Dh30 outside of restricted prayer hours. General visiting hours run from Saturday to Thursday between 9am and 8.30pm, with adjusted hours on Fridays.

The centre strictly enforces a modest dress code. Women must cover their hair and wear loose-fitting, ankle-length clothing, while men must wear long trousers and shirts with at least short sleeves. The facility no longer lends abayas, though visitors can purchase them at nearby Souq Al Jami.

Built between 1996 and 2007, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque remains a major global attraction, welcoming millions of visitors in the first half of this year alone.
