The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced a noticeable shift in weather conditions across Egypt, with the country expecting a gradual temperature decrease of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in most regions starting Friday and continuing through next Tuesday. This cooling trend follows a recent heatwave, bringing temperatures back in line with seasonal averages for this time of year.
Moderate to warm and humid conditions will prevail in the early morning hours, transitioning to hot and humid weather during the day across the northern parts of the country down to Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt. Meanwhile, South Upper Egypt will remain extremely hot. Maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta are projected to reach approximately 33°C on Friday, before dipping to 32°C on Saturday and Sunday. In South Upper Egypt, temperatures are expected to fall from 43°C down to 39°C by the start of next week.
Meteorologists have issued warnings regarding dense morning fog that may form intermittently between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM on roadways leading to and from northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and Central Sinai. Additionally, there are possibilities of light to occasionally moderate rainfall over parts of the northern coasts and the northern Nile Delta.
Winds are expected to pick up across most areas, reaching speeds between 30 and 40 km/h to help cool the atmosphere, though they may also stir up sand and dust in parts of the Western Desert.
